Project Overview

A Fast Response That Stopped the Damage.

The homeowner noticed a damp patch spreading across a ceiling and called Gullwick the same evening. Our emergency team traced the source to a concealed supply line, isolated the water, and had the leak sealed before it reached the floor below.

Plumber repairing a hidden leak behind a wall

A Hidden Leak Was Quietly Causing Damage.

By the time the leak became visible, water had already been tracking along a joist for days. We located it without opening up the whole ceiling and repaired the line on the same visit.

The Challenge

  • Water staining across the ceiling
  • Leak hidden behind plasterboard
  • Damp spreading through the wall cavity
  • Risk of further structural damage

“They arrived within the hour and found the leak straight away. What could have been a very expensive repair was sorted in a single evening.”

Located, Isolated and Repaired in One Visit.

Our technician used acoustic tracing to pinpoint the break, cut a single access panel, and replaced the damaged section with new pipework.

The Solution

  • Traced the leak without major access work
  • Isolated and drained the affected line
  • Replaced the damaged pipe section
  • Pressure tested the repair before leaving

The Result

The leak was stopped the same day, the surrounding area was dried out, and the homeowner avoided a far larger ceiling repair.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Everything you need to know before booking your plumbing service.

How long does a project like this take?

Most domestic projects on this scale run between two and five working days. You get a day-by-day schedule before we start, and if anything shifts you hear it from us rather than discovering it.

Will we be without water while you work?

Rarely for long. We stage the work so at least one bathroom and the kitchen stay usable, and any full isolation is agreed with you in advance.

Do you make good the floors and walls?

Yes. Reinstatement is priced into the quote from the start, covering plaster, screed, tiling and any driveway surface we had to open.

Can I see progress while the job runs?

Of course. Your engineer walks you through what was done at the end of each day, and we photograph anything that is about to be closed back up.

Is the finished work guaranteed?

Every project carries a twelve-month guarantee on parts and labour, plus the manufacturer’s own warranty on anything we install.

How do I get a quote for my project?

Send a few photographs and a short description through the contact form. We come back with an indicative range, then arrange a site visit to firm it up.
