Quotes, payment and guarantees<\/h2>

How do I get a quote?<\/h3>

Fill in the quote form or call us. We visit within a week, measure up and send a written quote within three working days. Visits and quotes are free.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

Do you take a deposit?<\/h3>

For jobs over \u00a31,000 we ask for 20 percent when you book, to cover materials. The rest is paid in stages that are written into the quote. Small jobs are paid on completion.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

Are you insured?<\/h3>

Yes. We carry public liability insurance of \u00a35 million and employer\u2019s liability for every member of the team. Certificates are available on request.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

What does the 5 year guarantee cover?<\/h3>

Our workmanship on every job, for five years from completion. If something we fitted fails because of how we fitted it, we come back and fix it at no cost.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

How much mess and noise should I expect?<\/h3>

We sheet floors and furniture, use dust extraction when cutting indoors and clean up at the end of each day. Noisy work starts after 8 am and stops by 5 pm.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

Can I stay in the house during the work?<\/h3>

For most jobs, yes. During kitchen or bathroom renovations we help you plan a temporary kitchen or arrange the order so one bathroom always works.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>

Can I buy my own wardrobe doors or handles?<\/h3>

Yes. Tell us before we build so we can size the doors and drill for your handles. We are happy to fit fittings you have chosen.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

Do you build stairs?<\/h3>

We repair and replace treads, spindles and handrails, and build new staircases for loft conversions. A full new staircase is quoted after a site visit.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

Which paint brands do you use?<\/h3>

We use trade paints from established British brands. If you have a specific colour from another brand, we can use that brand or have the colour matched.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

Do you paint exteriors in winter?<\/h3>

No. Exterior paint needs dry weather above 8 degrees to cure. We book exterior work between April and September.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

Do you supply the tiles?<\/h3>

Either way works. We can supply through our tile merchant at trade price, or fit tiles you buy. We will tell you how many to order, including spares.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

How long before I can use a new shower?<\/h3>

Grout and silicone need 24 to 48 hours to cure, depending on the product. We tell you the exact time on the day we finish.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

Can you lay wood over underfloor heating?<\/h3>

Yes, with engineered boards rated for heated floors. We acclimatise the boards and follow a heating schedule before and after laying.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

Do you move furniture?<\/h3>

We move standard furniture out of the room and back. Pianos, aquariums and very heavy items need to be cleared before we arrive.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

Is it worth repairing old sash windows?<\/h3>

Usually, yes. Most original sashes only need new cords, beads and draught seals. We check each window and tell you honestly when replacement makes more sense.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

Who handles electrics and plumbing in a renovation?<\/h3>

Our certified partners do the electrical and gas work. We coordinate them, so you still deal with one person and receive all certificates at the end.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>
