Rooftop unit replacement<\/h1>

A 19-year-old rooftop AC failed during a July heatwave. We priced repair against replacement, the owners chose replacement, and a high-efficiency unit was cooling the building two days later.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

The problem<\/h2>

The rooftop unit stopped cooling on the hottest week of the year. The building was sitting above 30\u00b0C inside by mid-afternoon.<\/p>

What we found<\/h2>

The compressor had failed and the unit was 19 years old, running on a refrigerant that is no longer produced. A compressor swap was possible, but expensive for equipment near the end of its life.<\/p>
